Commercial Electrician
This role offers the opportunity for journeyman and apprentice-level electricians to contribute to medium and large commercial construction projects, including both new builds and reconstruction. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on a variety of commercial job sites while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on medium to large commercial construction projects.
- Run wire and install wiring systems according to project specifications and electrical codes.
- Bend and install conduit, ensuring clean, accurate, and code-compliant routing.
- Read, interpret, and follow electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on commercial projects and implement effective solutions.
- Work independently on assigned tasks while coordinating with the broader project team.
- Demonstrate and explain electrical tasks to electrician helpers and delegate work appropriately.
- Collaborate with general contractors and other subcontractors on site to coordinate work and maintain project schedules.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards, project specifications, and applicable codes.
- Support both new construction and reconstruction projects in a variety of commercial environments.
- Hands-on experience performing commercial electrical work on construction projects.
- Ability to run wire and install wiring systems in commercial environments.
- Proficiency in bending and installing conduit for commercial applications.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Capability to work independently on all aspects of commercial electrical tasks.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions and project guidelines.
- Experience working on commercial job sites such as industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hotels, and high-end residential projects.
- Effective communication skills to interact with general contractors and other subcontractors on site.
Skills & Qualifications
- Journeyman or apprentice-level electrical experience in commercial construction.
- Familiarity with commercial construction processes and coordination with multiple trades.
- Ability to mentor and guide electrician helpers on various aspects of electrical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting electrical systems in the field
Work takes place on active commercial job sites, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, hotels, and high-end residential properties.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
