Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington is seeking a Recruitment, Admissions, & Cohort Programs Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service and administrative support for the Office of Recruitment, Admissions, & Cohort Programs. The assistant is the first point of contact for prospective and current students, families, and campus visitors, and supports recruitment events, campus tours, appointment scheduling, student records, and day‑to‑day office operations.
Job SummaryFull‑time hourly position (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Occasional evenings may be required.)
Responsibilities- Respond to email and phone inquiries to the department’s shared inbox and ticketing system in a timely, professional manner.
- Address questions and requests from students, the general public, faculty, administrators, and staff, referring to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Coordinate and schedule student appointments with relevant departments based on individual needs and goals.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings, Cohort Programs group meetings, and events, including on‑campus activities such as campus visits and student meetings.
- Lead or assist with campus tours, including walking groups and answering questions.
- Coordinate purchasing and venue requests for the team.
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of student enrollment records in compliance with College policy and the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA).
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Strong data entry and administrative skills.
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within higher education, is preferred.
