Part-Time Guest Services Associate, Eskenazi Museum

Guest Service Associates will serve as the primary ambassadors of the museum, providing excellent customer service to all visitors to ensure a positive experience.

• Work primarily in customer-facing roles, including posts in galleries, guest services desks, and exterior spaces as required.
• Engage with every guest to ensure a positive and welcoming experience.
• May operate at an EMA Security monitoring station under direction from Security Panel Operators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Required: High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: Prior experience in a related field

• Required: Outstanding customer service experience
• Required: Excellent communication skills
• Required: Ability to coordinate well with all stakeholders in all settings
• Required: Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
• Required: Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and communicate with a wide variety of individuals.
• Preferred: Proficiency in multiple languages

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
• Active position requiring movement around the workspace and ascending/descending stairs or ladders.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to detect items in proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

• Compensation: $13.52 per hour, $14.00 per hour after 1,100 hours worked.
• Position capped at 29 hours per week.

• Fall and Spring Semesters: Shifts usually 7 hours (occasionally 5 or 9 hours), totaling 24‑29 hours per week, scheduled primarily during building and gallery hours.
• Building hours:
  Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm;
  Saturday 10:00 am‑5:00 pm;
  Sunday 12:00 pm‑5:00 pm.
• Gallery hours:
  Monday (closed), Tuesday‑Friday 10:00 am‑5:00 pm;
  Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm‑5:00 pm.
• Summer: Building hours Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm;
  Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm‑5:00 pm;
  Gallery hours Monday (closed), Tuesday‑Sunday 12:00 pm‑5:00 pm.
• After‑hours events may occasionally require staffing. Schedule will vary week to week. Must be available through 8/23/2026.
