IU Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified OB Hospitalist to join our established labor & delivery team, providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, supporting midwives, and responding to OB emergencies within an advanced, contemporary facility.
- 168 shifts annually (mix of 12-hour days and nights, or can be structured into 24-hour shifts depending on team preference).
- Provide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units.
- Serve as operative backup for CNMs, including support for operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and cesarean sections.
- Support the OBED during periods of high volume or acuity.
- Evaluate and manage consults from the ED and inpatient units.
- Perform key obstetric procedures including SVD, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and C-sections.
- Participate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries when needed, with GYN backup available.
