Department of Biology:
Indiana University Bloomington.
The Department of Biology is a large, unified department with strong undergraduate degrees, nationally ranked graduate programs, world-class research spanning the breadth of biological questions and experimental systems, and a passion for science outreach.
Our premier outreach programs The Jim Holland Summer Enrichment Program (SEP), Summer Science Research Program (SSRP), and Research Initiative in STEM Education (RISE) provide high-achieving high school students with engaging opportunities to explore a wide range of scientific disciplines, from microbiology to plant biology. Through interactive lectures, hands-on laboratory experiences, scientific research, as well as career and college preparation, students gain meaningful exposure to science at the university level.
Program activities are led by a dynamic and highly skilled team of Indiana University faculty members and Indiana high school teachers.
