The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) invites applications for the position of Student Success and Engagement Coordinator for the undergraduate program. We seek an individual who will contribute to the school's strategic goals for enrollment, engagement, and retention.

Located on the flagship campus of the Indiana University system, SPH-B has more than 3,700 enrolled undergraduate and 400 graduate students, 210 faculty, and 95 staff across 5 departments:
Applied Health Science, Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health and Wellness Design, and Kinesiology. Indiana University is a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU). Bloomington offers a college-town feel with city amenities. This position specializes in providing support and guidance to prospective and current undergraduate students. The role involves identifying the needs of student populations, designing engagement initiatives, and connecting with students and families in meaningful ways. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, detail-oriented, able to make independent decisions, and eager to work with both prospective students and families. The candidate should be passionate about this work, creative, data-driven, and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Department-Specific

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the daily operations of the THRIVE Living Learning Center (THRIVE LLC), a residential community, and creates programming aligned with its mission of promoting holistic wellness.
  • Serves as a mentor and resource to LLC residents, student leaders, and volunteers. Encourages leadership and personal development through active participation in LLC initiatives.
  • Builds early community and identity around the SPH-B mission of wellness, leadership, and service, while promoting SPH-B academic options.
  • Partners with IU Residential Life staff, academic departments, and student services to coordinate programming and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness using student feedback and data. Prepares reports to inform stakeholders and guide future planning.
  • Assists with budget oversight, facilities coordination, and policy compliance related to LLC activities in conjunction with residence hall staff.
  • Contributes to undergraduate and graduate student recruitment pipelines by presenting at Red Carpet Day Admissions Events, Information Sessions, Open Houses, and Campus Visits.
  • Serves as a key member of the Welcome Week planning team, delivering a comprehensive and inclusive experience that helps SPH-B students feel connected and supported from day 1.
  • Travels as needed to support LLC events (e.g., Habitat Build), recruitment events (e.g., Fairs and Expos), and yield events (e.g., Family Receptions), representing the THRIVE LLC and SPH-B to prospective students, families, and community partners.
  • Collaborates with recruitment staff on student yield strategy by hosting drop-in office hours, sending recruitment and yield-specific mail collateral, and creating campus events to engage admitted students and encourage enrollment.
  • Works occasional evenings and weekends to support LLC programming, recruitment events, and special initiatives as required.
  • Instructs required Living Learning Center academic courses.
  • Strengthens cross-functional collaboration between recruitment (both undergraduate and graduate), student services, and faculty engagement.
General Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements programs and initiatives geared at improving student engagement and involvement outcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.
  • Interfaces directly with students, attending student life events and programs and gathering satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student life initiatives and objectives.
