Corpus Christi Catholic School is seeking a faithful, enthusiastic and dynamic Junior High Religion teacher to join our team for the  school year. Applicants must be in support of the mission and vision of Corpus Christi Catholic School and have a passion for working with students grades 6-8. The ideal candidate has experience teaching Junior High Religion, has a degree in elementary/middle school education, is strong in their behavior management system, and desires to work in a faith-filled environment.

This teacher plays a vital role in the spiritual formation of our students, helping them integrate faith into daily life while fostering respectful dialogue, critical thinking, and more decision-making. The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who models Christian discipleship, collaborates well with colleagues, and is committed to forming student leaders grounded in Catholic virtues. Responsibilities
  • Recognizes and supports the mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Helps build the school's faith community by demonstrated willingness to participate and plan school, religious, and service activities
  • Prepares engaging, age-appropriate lessons that promote Scripture study, Church doctrine, prayer, moral theology, and Catholic social teaching
  • Helps students connect faith to real-world situations and personal decision-making
  • Models Catholic values through words, actions, and professional conduct
  • Leads and models prayer, liturgies, and faith-based activities for students
  • Maintains accurate records of student service project hours and communicates progress with families in a timely, positive manner
  • Prepares and participates in sacramental milestones (e.g, Confirmation)
  • Supports dialogue between parishes in the preparation of sacraments
  • Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which promotes self-direction and positive self-image; sets high standards for student behavior and successfully manages inappropriate behavior effectively
  • Uses relevant technology to support instruction and student learning
  • Creates a classroom environment that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of each student
  • Conducts ongoing formal and informal assessments of student skills and differentiates instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs and accommodation plans.
  • Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of hands‑on activities, small group instruction, and independent work
  • Continues to participate in professional development by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
  • Coordinates with other school professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees

Required Qualifications
  • Current Professional Educators License or endorsement
