OFFICE OF SCHOLARSHIPS (BL-SCHR-IUBLA) The Indiana University (IU) Bloomington Office of Scholarships supports the mission of the Office of Enrollment Management by connecting prospective and current students with meaningful financial opportunities that make an IU education more accessible. As the central resource for scholarship awarding, programming, outreach, and guidance, the office is committed to empowering students through clear information, personalized support, and equitable access to funding.

Grounded in a dedication to excellence, compliance, and service, the Office of Scholarships works collaboratively with campus partners, faculty, and donors to manage the awarding, maintenance, and stewardship of campus scholarships. The team provides ongoing support throughout a scholar's time at IU Bloomington through intentional developmental programming designed to foster engagement, growth, and success. By remaining informative, responsive, and resourceful, while being sensitive to the needs of students and families, the Office of Scholarships advances enrollment goals across 4 areas: academic readiness, access, affordability, and student success.

The Project Coordinator supports the partnership between Indiana University and the Regional Opportunities Initiative (IU-ROI) by planning, coordinating, and executing scholar-focused programming for the  academic year.

Department‑Specific Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes all scholar-focused events related to the IU‑ROI partnership for the 2026‑2027 academic year
  • Organizes and delivers regional networking engagements that connect scholars with professionals, alumni, and community partners
  • Coordinates summer internship placements for scholars based on student interests and employer needs
  • Coordinates program logistics
  • Monitors the effectiveness and return on investment of initiatives
  • Leads the planning and hosting of the fall semester kickoff event and supports ongoing recruitment and student engagement efforts
  • Collaborates with employers and campus partners to identify and promote spring and summer internship opportunities for scholars
  • Meets regularly with scholars to build program awareness, engagement, and connection
  • Hosts a summer networking event for Grow Here in the Uplands students who remain on or near campus
  • Works with ROI to strengthen social networking efforts and develop county-level connections, including partnerships with local chambers and community organizations
  • Coordinates communication between presenters, volunteers, staff, and colleagues to develop timelines, share information, and support pre‑ and post‑event media, communications, and publicity
  • Prepares all event‑related materials, including nametags, brochures, participant packets, and related documents
  • Participates in event budget planning and development
  • Monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditures; processes invoices and bills; records transactions; and prepares financial reports
  • Completes and submits a comprehensive end‑of‑year project review, including analysis, refinement recommendations, and formal reporting
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Work Experience
  • Experience in student development, programming, event management, hospitality, or a related field
Licenses and Certificates
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
