The Department of Mathematical Sciences at IUPUI invites applications for a tenure‑track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in actuarial science, mathematics education, or pure/applied mathematics, beginning on or before August 1, 2024. Responsibilities include teaching six courses during the first two years (at least one each term), followed by a regular load of four courses per year, maintaining a strong research program and publishing research findings, and providing student advising, departmental, and university service.
The appointment aims to strengthen research, graduate programs, and undergraduate offerings.
- Teach six courses during the first two years (minimum of one per term) and four courses annually thereafter.
- Maintain an active, externally funded research program.
- Publish research findings.
- Advises students and participate in departmental and university service.
- Earned doctorate (at time of appointment) in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related area.
- Strong research program and teaching ability at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- For Associate‑Professor rank: excellent publication record, demonstrated ability to engage in independent or collaborative/interdisciplinary research, and existing or high potential for external funding from NSF, NIH, or other top‑tier agencies.
- Expected to maintain an active, externally funded research program.
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
