Academic, University Professor, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES) at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a CRRES Postdoctoral Fellowship
. The fellowship supports scholars studying race and ethnicity across social sciences and humanities. Candidates from Geography, Psychological & Brain Sciences, Anthropology (Human Biology), or related fields are encouraged. The program aims to create scholars who can address race and ethnicity issues via a multidisciplinary lens. We welcome research intersecting African American & Diaspora Studies, Native American & Indigenous Studies, Latinx Studies, and/or Asian American Studies.
Fellows are expected to pursue research activities in their primary area, demonstrated by conference presentations and publications. Fellowships advance careers of new scholars by offering research, teaching, and mentorship opportunities. Strong applicants demonstrate scholarly potential to be competitive for tenure‑track appointments at Indiana University and other research universities.
Terms of Agreement Fellows will pursue research, teach one course per year, and participate in CRRES and host department activities and seminars. This two‑year position begins on August 1, 2027 and ends on May 31, 2029, with a 10‑month annual salary of $60,000. Postdoctoral fellows receive Indiana University health benefits and $3,000 per year in research support.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or have a letter from the chair of their dissertation committee confirming expected completion by June 30, 2027.
