- Position Summary: Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) is seeking exceptional candidates for the inaugural position of Executive Associate Dean of Academic Practice Partnerships. The Executive Associate Dean of Academic Practice Partnerships (EADAPP) is the strategic leader who bridges relationships between the academic and clinical practice environments at the Indiana University School of Nursing Core (approximately 2200 learners across 3 campuses, of which 2 are designated Carnegie R1). The EADAPP provides leadership to strategically develop sustainable, mutually beneficial collaborations that drive healthcare innovation, foster research, and meet current workforce needs.
This administrator sets the strategy for developing, growing, maintaining, and analyzing the core’s collaborative initiatives with external healthcare systems and maximizes opportunities for shared research, evidence-based practice implementation, and workforce development. The EADAPP reports to the Dean. The Executive Associate Dean of Academic Practice Partnerships is a 12‑month appointment with workload dependent on appointment. - Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating the strategic vision of the academic practice partnerships in alignment with the IUSON core’s mission, vision, and core values and external partner goals.
- Cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial and robust relationships with nursing healthcare setting leaders.
- Mentoring and professional development programs to ensure robust faculty and student participation within the academic practice partnerships.
- Ensuring partnership activities and educational initiatives comply with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Disseminating reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts and presentations highlighting the partnerships activities and their impact.
- Seeking contracts or grants funding to further the partnerships activities.
- Representing the IUSON core school at relevant campus and university meetings and events.
- Representing the IUSON core school at regional, national and international levels to garner recognition for excellence and furthering the reputational agenda.
- Accountability for the IUSON core school’s service and community engagement metrics.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate, nursing major preferred (e.g., PhD), and master’s in nursing, if doctorate is not in nursing (e.g., EdD).
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a registered nurse in Indiana.
- Eligible for appointment as a Tenured Associate or Full Professor.
