Position: Site Coordinator (Owen County)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Manages overall daily operations of the Club site under the supervision of the Owen County School Site Director. Responsible for the supervision of site staff including Youth Development Professionals and volunteers with a focus on an outcome-driven Club experience. Monitor/manage flow of pedestrian traffic entering and leaving the building, with special attention to safe/secure member entry and exit. Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Club and organizational programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates implementation of the Formula for Impact (FFI) framework and achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.

Responsible for ensuring a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment, and supplies are managed and maintained.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee program staff ensuring all responsibilities are met
  • Oversee all recruiting, hiring, training, disciplining and evaluation of the staff and volunteers in your unit.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions
  • Developing and maintaining safe and positive Club culture
  • Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities and implement daily programs that encourage positive activity.
  • Ensure all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and incident reporting guidelines are followed.
  • Maintain accurate sign-in/out procedures and student accountability.
  • Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities.
  • Ensure proper staff‑to‑student ratios and appropriate staff coverage at all times.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with youth and parents.
  • Discipline members by following guidance procedures, while ensuring communications with legal guardians and promoting better behavior for the club member.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with school administrators, teachers, support staff, and volunteers.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
  • Compile priority outcomes, data such as Average Daily Attendance (ADA)
  • Assist with preparing information for reporting purposes when necessary.
  • Record information to proper supervisor(s) in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for meeting all organizational requirements established by the national association and the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington.
  • Marketing of unit and organizational programs through all media sources. Preparation and distribution to club families and posting of programs, club hours and special events throughout your unit.
  • Developing and overseeing club and community special events at your unit and in collaboration with other units.
  • Serving as an advocate of youth, through public speaking, serving on community groups, etc.
  • Report to the Owen County School Site Director.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Higher education degree preferred.
  • 1 or more years of work experience in a managerial role in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization.
  • 3 or more years of youth work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of some or all of the following: child and adolescent development, behavior management techniques, principles of effective youth development programming.

  • Maintains excellent working relationships with staff, volunteers and the public. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work with people from diverse racial/cultural/socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision and retention of key personnel for the unit.
  • Collaboration with staff with facilities management.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with diverse young people, parents and community leaders.
