Position: Associate Director of Recruiting (Admissions Counselor)

The College of Arts and Sciences Recruiting Office collaborates with the College of Arts and Sciences Executive Dean, senior college leadership, faculty and staff, current students, alumni, and a wide array of campus partners to develop and implement strategies for attracting students to the College’s programs of study. The College’s paramount goal is to recruit students who are academically outstanding.

Department‑Specific Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of on‑campus recruitment events, including signature programs such as College Preview Weekends and spring Red Carpet Days, ensuring alignment with enrollment goals.
  • Oversee the development, review, and updating of weekly on‑campus information session materials to ensure accuracy and a compelling prospective student experience.
  • Manage event logistics in collaboration with faculty, staff, and student ambassadors to deliver high‑quality, large‑scale, targeted visit experiences.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of on‑campus programming and implement data‑informed improvements to enhance engagement and yield outcomes.
  • Support operational functions of the recruiting team, including monitoring the shared inbox to ensure timely and accurate communication with prospective students and families.
  • Coordinate individualized visit experiences by facilitating 1:1 meetings between prospective students and appropriate faculty, staff, or student ambassadors based on academic and co‑curricular interests.
  • Develop and maintain processes to streamline event operations and visit coordination, improving efficiency and service delivery across the team.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for on‑campus visit experiences, ensuring a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
General Responsibilities
  • Maintain, implement, and oversee a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan.
  • Develop, implement, and administer plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
  • Integrate a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, tailored to specific student declared majors, career interests, and geographic factors.
  • Identify and develop partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
  • Interpret academic policies and exercise independent judgment.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs and processes, using census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans for specific populations.
  • Serve in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to attract and enroll under‑represented populations.
  • Attend meetings or serve on committees with admissions stakeholders, providing guidance to admissions counselors regarding recruitment schedules and objectives for the recruitment staff in a given region.
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree.
Work Experience
  • 5 years in admissions, higher education, marketing, or a related field.

Salary: $53,321.04 – $54,387.00 (Annualized)
