Department InformationThe Administrative Services and Programs Manager is a shared services role between 4 programs. These include the American Studies Program (AMST), the Latino Studies Program (LATS), Native American and Indigenous Studies Program (NAIS), and Asian American Studies Program (AAST).

- Serves as administrative services and program manager, office manager, and assistant to the Chairs for the Programs of:
American Studies (AMST), Asian American Studies (AAST), Latino Studies(LATS), and Native American and Indigenous Studies (NAIS). - Latino Studies, as a stand‑alone program outside of American Studies, will require that the position pay particular attention toprogramming and budgeting for this unit during the 2026‑2027AY.
- This position requires the program manager to be basedphysically in the LATS office.
- Serves as the public face of the Latino Studies Program at itsmain office and at recruiting events.
- Manages all programs; handles administrative and enrollmentactivities at undergraduate levels; plans and coordinates facultytravel and events for all units; and includes faculty personnelassistance.
- Establishes, interprets, and modifies program policies and operating procedures. Provides transaction processing and other financial administrative support as dictated by program needs andunder the direction of the Fiscal Officer.
- Assists in implementing initiatives. Represents the programs atvarious meetings.
- Understand the Chairpersons
¿ goals and the mission of the programs; implement chairs
¿ goals. Advise and assist the Chairswith University, College and Departmental policies and procedure sand assure that appropriate procedures are followed. - Collaborates with team members to develop program objectives and create policies to meet them. Coordinates program operation with all collaborative units.
- Monitors progress and maintains all necessary data bases.
- Actively recruits program participants and researches newvenues and methods of recruitment.
- May provide guidance to support and temporary staff and coordinates workflow for the program.
- Researches available grants and assists creating funding proposals that further advance support of the program. Writes grantreports.
- Administers program budgets.

- Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with community organizations, participants, and university partners tosupport outreach and engagement efforts.
- Assists in identifying community needs, interests, and opportunities for engagement and provides input regarding programimprovements and outreach strategies.
- Develops, adapts, and distributes educational materials,presentations, communications, and outreach resources for a variety of audiences.
- Facilitates outreach activities, informational sessions, and educational experiences in virtual, in‑person, and hybridenvironments.
- Monitors participant engagement and program activities,exercising judgment to address routine issues and ensure positiveparticipant experiences.
