Position SummaryThe Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a position in the Department of Strings in Viola. The successful candidate will have an extensive and successful background as a performer and teacher at the highest national and/or international level, will be able to work effectively with faculty colleagues, and will be able to inspire students in a professionally-oriented educational environment. Teach viola students in all degree and diploma programs, including freshmen through doctoral levels.
Participation in departmental meetings, recruitment activities and auditions, doctoral committees, and recital hearing committees, along with other department activities, such as faculty recitals and outreach activities, master classes, service on Jacobs School of Music committees, and other similar activities is expected.
Extensive performing and teaching experience at the very highest levels of the profession. Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent training required, advanced degrees preferred; comparable professional experience will be also be considered.
