The Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism (ISCA), housed within the Robert
A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University Bloomington, invites applications for the Leslie J. Raffel Chair in Antisemitism Studies. The appointment will be at the rank of Research Professor (open rank, with preference for associate or full professor). It is expected to begin January 1, 2027, for a term of up to five years, subject to review, with potential consideration for renewal.
The Raffel Chair represents a significant investment in advancing Indiana University’s global leadership in the interdisciplinary study of antisemitism. We seek a widely recognized scholar, in any academic discipline, whose work addresses the most urgent contemporary forms of antisemitism.
The Chair will provide intellectual leadership at the highest level—strengthening research initiatives, convening scholars across disciplines, expanding strategic partnerships, and pursuing external funding to advance major projects. This is a full-time research appointment.
