Position SummaryThe Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a position in the Woodwind Department in Bassoon. The ideal candidate will haverecognition both nationally and internationally as a performer andas a pedagogue in a wide variety of settings.
Primary responsibilities include building and maintaining a studioof undergraduate- and graduate-level bassoon students, teachingstudio classes and reed making classes, and coaching chamberensembles. Additional duties could include teaching orchestraliterature classes, pedagogy classes, and other related courses.
The successful candidate is expected to participate in departmentalmeetings, recruitment activities and auditions, doctoralcommittees, and recital hearing committees, along with otherdepartment activities, such as faculty recitals and outreach activities, master classes, service on Jacobs School of Musiccommittees, and other similar activities.
The ideal candidate must have an established or growing reputation with broad professional experience and have the ability to worksuccessfully with gifted and advanced university-level students.
Master’s degree in music is required, or an equivalent of outstanding professional experience will also be considered.
