Job Summary

Responsible for designing and administering inclusive studentprogramming to enhance and reinforce the academic engagement and experiential learning capacity of the student experience. Programsmay be focused on the first-year, transfer, under-represented, orgeneral student populations, as well as international or overseasstudy students.

Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Interfaces directly with students and collaborates with staffin own department and other departments on shared studentprogramming goals.
  • Reporting to the Associate Director for Programming and Student Leadership, coordinate Orientation logistics and operations bytranslating program priorities into detailed timelines,assignments, communications, and operational processes.
  • Develops and maintains OTeam calendars, schedules, and organizational tools that support recruitment, selection,onboarding, training, and ongoing team communication.
  • Serves as the primary operational liaison between Orientationleadership and the OEP events team, coordinating program spaces,facility needs, Orientation moves, event logistics, and operational readiness. Provide operational support for events led by OEP as negotiated.
  • Manages Orientation check-in operations, including procedures,staffing assignments, materials, technology needs, traffic flow,and coordination with campus and departmental partners.
  • Manages supplies and operational resources, includingpurchasing, inventory, storage, equipment rental and distribution,and preparation of materials for each program.
  • Coordinates OTeam and Orientation safety readiness, required forms, emergency procedures, and operational response plans in collaboration with Orientation leadership and appropriate campus partners.
  • Coordinates assigned communication and engagement platforms,including Zee Mee, ensuring responsibilities, content needs,processes, and timelines are effectively managed.
  • In coordination with the Assistant Director of Academics and Communications, provide backup operational support for sharedoffice communications, student advising appointment assignments,and related processes during peak periods, staff absences, andother identified needs.
  • Provides project coordination and workflow direction to undergraduate staff and part-time team members assigned to operational projects; identify operational challenges, recommend solutions, and independently manage projects that improve team effectiveness and the Orientation experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements programs and initiatives geared atenhancing and reinforcing the academic engagement and experiential learning capacity of the student experience. Projects programming outcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.
  • Interfaces directly with students, attending studentprogramming events and gathering satisfaction feedback from studentparticipants to implement into future student programminginitiatives and objectives.
  • Collaborates with staff in own department and other departments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on sharedstudent programming goals, often coordinating funding to sponsorstudent programs.
  • Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student programsagainst projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on impact to students and budget and may present to stakeholders oneffectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.
  • Serves on committees and performs student programming researchacross the field of higher education and at peer institutions to identify and recommend best practices.
  • Plans and coordinates communications for student programminginitiatives to ensure student participation and inclusion.
  • May provide guidance to other Student Programming Specialists;makes process recommendations to manager for improved delivery ofservice.
Qualifications

EDUCATION Required
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public affairs,counseling, business, or related field.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, orrelated field.
WORK EXPERIENCE Required
  • 2 years in student services, higher education, or related field.
