Position SummaryThe Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a position in the Department of Strings in Double Bass. The successful candidate willhave an extensive and successful background as a performer andteacher at the highest national and/or international level, will beable to work effectively with faculty colleagues, and will be ableto inspire students in a professionally-oriented educational environment.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Teach double bass students in all degree anddiploma programs, including freshmen through doctoral levels, teachstudio class and possible teaching of orchestral repertoire class.
Participation in departmental meetings, recruitment activities and auditions, doctoral committees, and recital hearing committees,along with other department activities, such as faculty recitalsand outreach activities, master classes, service on Jacobs Schoolof Music committees, and other similar activities is expected.
Extensive performing and teaching experience at the very highest levels of the profession. Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent training required, advanced degrees preferred; comparableprofessional experience will be also be considered.
