Position SummaryFull, Associate, or Assistant Professor positions are available at IU Indianapolis across four interconnected schools with a focus on advancing knowledge and developing innovative solutions in proteomics and allied fields. The chosen faculty will be based in one of six departments within the School of Science:
Biology, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, or Psychology. Candidates should be dynamic researchers with a commitment to interdisciplinary research, teaching, and service that aligns with the mission of the School and CBATI.
- Translational Omics and Biomarker Development – expertise in proteomics, lipidomics, glycomics, metabolomics, or related omics fields to identify clinically actionable biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and disease mechanisms.
- Technology Development – development of mass spectrometry, next‑gen/nanopore, or other omics technologies for molecular imaging, protein‑ligand/complex characterization, single‑cell omics, and biomolecule modifications.
- Develop and maintain a nationally and internationally recognized, externally funded research program aligned with the missions of the School and CBATI.
- Collaborate across disciplines within the School and the Institute to drive innovative research that addresses critical bioscience challenges.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the home department.
- Mentor and advise students, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
- Engage in service activities within the Department, School, Institute, University, and the broader Indiana community.
- Education:
Ph.D. in life, health, or physical sciences or related fields. - Demonstrated record of scholarship in proteomics or allied fields with a history of securing external funding.
- Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds.
- Evidence of effective teaching and a commitment to fostering respectful, inclusive learning and working environments.
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
