VP, Business Lending

IU Credit Union is seeking an experienced lending professional with at least five (5) years of experience in commercial lending. Qualified candidates will demonstrate prior experience managing and underwriting credit relationships with loan exposures $1 million to $25 million. This position resides in Bloomington; however, the target market lending opportunities encompass the state of Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifying, acquiring and retaining business member relationships while balancing the relationship between originations and asset protection.
  • Contributing meaningfully toward achievement of business lending goals.
  • Proactively managing assigned portfolio of clients and potential watch list clients.
  • Identifying member needs and maximizing relationship opportunities.
  • Generating leads and closing opportunities.
  • Originating standard and complex business loans.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years business lending experience with formal credit training.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or management preferred.
  • Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical ability required.
  • Proven history of successful business development and portfolio growth.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of personal and business cash flow analysis and tax statements.
