Job Summary

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Works as a valued team member on the school finance team.
  • Leads and administers the School's student financial aid portfolio, including scholarships, fellowships and graduate fee remissions, ensuring compliance with institutional, donor and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and manages annual awarding budgets and multi-year spending plans, aligning with IUF Target Sped requirements and school financial strategy.
  • Oversees fund utilization across 200+ endowed and restricted funds, ensuring proper stewardship and alignment with donor intent.
  • Exercises decision making authority in the interpretation and application of donor restrictions, awarding guidelines and alignment with donor intent.
  • Establishes and maintains processes and internal controls for award setup, reconciliation and reporting across multiple financial systems such as BAM, SIS, KFS, etc.
  • Monitors and reconciles scholarship, fellowship and fee remission accounts monthly, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Reviews and approves financial transactions and IUF reimbursement documentation, ensuring compliance, accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Provides financial guidance and training to departmental administrators, award committees, and stakeholders.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Development, Finance and Academic units to resolve donor intent questions, launch new funds and improve financial processes.
  • Produces and delivers financial analyses, projections and reporting to support strategic planning and award allocation decisions.

General Responsibilities

  • Using knowledge and application of accepted procedures and standards, performs detailed financial and administrative tasks related to managing the daily and long-term financial and/or administrative operations of an organizational unit or an academic, research, and teaching department within a school or college.
  • Makes recommendations on policies and guidelines for division/department activities.
  • Controls all expenditures and statement of accounts to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal integrity.
  • Manages general appropriation, endowment, federal and non-federal grants and contracts, and gift funds.
  • Develops, plans, and makes recommendations on special projects, which may include space allocations, staffing, equipment purchases, and long-range plans.
  • Prepares operating and project budget drafts. Regularly explains financial concepts to non-financial employees.
  • Monitors division/departmental budgets and resolves or recommends resolutions for any significant deviations from approved budgets.
  • May provide guidance to lower-level employees.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

The salary range for a qualified candidate will likely fall in the $55,000 - $65,000 range.
