Registered Nurse - PCU

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts in a mixed acuity PCU/Med Surg unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5
• Must be comfortable with both PCU and Med Surg patients and float between units as needed
• Every other weekend requirement
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 48 hours for 4x12 shifts per workweek
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS; NIH preferred
• 18 months of experience required
• Must obtain IN, compact, and/or temp license prior to start
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Dress code: black bottoms and red top

• Use Cerner charting system
• 36 hours of orientation required
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with CV Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrine, and Oncology diagnoses
• Manage dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery patients, arterial lines, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Work with telemetry monitoring in all private rooms with overhead lifts
• Previous charge experience preferred

This short-term acute care hospital features 210 staffed beds and specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery services. The facility operates a mixed acuity unit that combines PCU and Med Surg care, with the largest patient population being cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures. The hospital provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure quality patient care.
