Position:
Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Direct report:
Director of Waiver Services

Wage:
Starting at $17 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Hours:

Full‑time once staff is working 30 hours per week

About the Role

Direct Support Professionals provide assistance in skill building and independent living for individuals with Autism, developmental differences, and behavioral/mental health concerns. This position offers extensive training, professional development, and career pathways in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) field.

Responsibilities
  • Implement feedback accurately and efficiently from clinical and administrative staff
  • Work in various settings including client homes, community spaces, and outpatient offices
  • Collaborate closely with technicians, clinical and administrative support professionals, and families
  • Show enthusiasm for learning and teaching others, maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Comply with all safety and procedure protocols to ensure the well‑being of individuals under your care
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance/registration
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass extensive background checks and drug screenings
  • Day and evening availability (weekends may be required)

  • Strong self‑awareness, empathy, integrity, and humility
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback accurately and efficiently
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience or strong interest in working with individuals with developmental differences
  • Experience or strong interest in handling challenging behaviors
  • History of taking initiative
  • Solutions‑oriented approach to challenging situations
  • Ability to brainstorm and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Compassion towards others
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, clinical and administrative support professionals, individuals, and families
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Experience in the ABA field is a plus but not required
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred
  • High level of enthusiasm and energy
