Job Summary Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Oversees and coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives at Indiana University Bloomington under the direction of the Associate Director of Health Promotion.
  • Contributes to the creation of healthy learning environments by developing and delivering educational programming, strategic campaigns, innovative workshops, and health-focused media.
  • Collaborates with student organizations, academic units, residential communities, campus departments, and community partners, advancing a coordinated, student-centered approach to campus well‑being.
  • Enhances health and wellness education across foundational health and wellness domains identified as priorities by students throughout the college experience.
  • Advances population‑level prevention strategies to improve quality of life and student success within the IUB student community.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates evidence‑informed, theory‑driven, trauma‑informed, and responsive programs and services that advance campus‑wide public health outcomes.
  • Contributes to office outreach efforts and supports the recruitment, training, supervision, and professional development of peer health educators and student interns.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to advance a coordinated, student‑centered approach to health promotion.
  • Exercises professional judgment in determining the content and delivery of health education programming across the scope of college health topics.
  • Works closely with and advises the Associate Director of Health Promotion on emerging initiatives, programmatic priorities, and requests for new programming.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates comprehensive health‑promotion programs grounded in public health theory, behavior‑change models, and evidence‑informed practices.
  • Develops programming addressing foundational health topics that affect both individual behaviors and environmental determinants of health.
  • Creates educational programming for academic classrooms and campus partners (e.g., Student Involvement Leadership Center, Office for Sorority and Fraternity Life, Student Health Center), student organization, and special campus events.
  • Uses epidemiological, institutional, and assessment data to identify priority populations and tailor targeted responsive programs and services to reduce disparities.
  • Develops educational materials, campaigns, and digital content using health communication frameworks to promote protective behaviors and informed decision‑making.
  • Ensures health education is broadly accessible across campus, with attention to students with elevated risk or limited access to services.
  • Integrates peer‑reviewed research and national guidelines (e.g., CDC, ACHA, WHO) into program design and implementation.
  • Advocates for and contributes to campus policies and environmental strategies that support student and community health.
  • Develops partnerships internal and external campus partners to advance coordinated health promotion efforts.
  • Facilitates engaging, evidence‑based presentations and workshops for student groups, residence halls, classes, student organizations, and campus departments.
  • Collaborates with student groups, academic partners, and administrative units to incorporate health promotion into campus life.
  • Provides individual educational consultations to students seeking information on health and wellness topics.
  • Strengthens referral pathways between health education, clinical services, counseling, and other student support resources.
  • Trains, mentors, and supervises peer health educators and provides structured preceptorship to student interns.
  • Assists with departmental outreach strategy and campus engagement initiatives.
  • Consults with and advises the Associate Director of Health Promotion on emerging health trends, new initiatives, and programming priorities.
