Job Title

Performs tasks related to the cleanliness and upkeep of IU Hotel guest rooms and/or campus residential and guest spaces.

The IU Biddle Hotel is the largest hotel in Bloomington, Indiana, the only hotel on campus, and a living embodiment of Hoosier hospitality. Visitors enjoy upscale, convenient accommodations and parking as well as on-site amenities including the Vault Pub, live music, bowling, Starbucks, a 2-level bookstore, charming outdoor dining spaces, and international food from local restaurants - all in the heart of campus, steps away from the best dining, shopping, arts, and entertainment at IU and in the city of Bloomington.

This role involves cleaning and preparing hotel rooms for both arriving guests and for intermediate in-stay service for existing guests daily. It also includes ensuring all furnishings in each guest rooms are free of evidence of a previous guest and that all items are in working order and ready for new guests daily and meets the Biddle standard of guest room inspection.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Preferred:

• Some housekeeping, custodial, or related field experience

This role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. This role frequently requires the ability to handle equipment. This role frequently requires the ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in proximity as well as far away; discern between colors;

detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary: $13.10 per hour

Work Hours:

Weekday and weekend hours. Work hours depend on hotel occupancy but do require weekends and some holidays. This position is capped up to 29 hours per week.
