role
The Senior Director, Human Resources will serve as the strategic HR leader for the U.S. with primary accountability for the Bloomington, Indiana site — one of the company's largest and fastest-growing operations with over 1,500 employees. In addition, the Senior Director provides HR partnership for 130+ U.S. employees operating largely in remote and field-based roles. The Senior Director leads an onsite HR team and operates within a matrixed HR model with enterprise Centers of Excellence.
This leader will design and execute a forward-thinking people strategy that supports rapid scaling, builds organizational capability, and strengthens a culture of performance, accountability, and inclusion. The Senior Director will act as a trusted advisor to site leadership, driving talent outcomes that enable operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Strategic HR Leadership
- Serve as a core member of the Site Leadership Team and an active contributor to enterprise HR strategy and transformation efforts.
- Partner with site leadership to build and execute a multiyear HR strategy aligned to aggressive growth, workforce expansion, and operational performance.
- Lead organizational design and change initiatives that enable scale, efficiency, and agility.
- Drive culture development, engagement, and leadership effectiveness programs tailored for a high-growth environment and high-performing team mentality.
- Act as change agent and introduce best practices to align with Simtra's growth ambitions.
- Serve as the primary decision authority on site-level HR matters, with accountability for policy application, employee relations outcomes, and workforce management.
- Serve as the HR business partner for U.S. non-site employees, ensuring consistency across site and remote populations.
Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning
- Lead succession planning, talent reviews, and leadership pipeline development for critical roles.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support large-scale hiring, high-volume recruiting, and competitive labor-market strategies.
- Partner with Total Rewards to ensure competitive, equitable, and scalable compensation and incentive programs aligned to operational goals and labor market realities.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Build a positive, highly engaged employee experience that supports productivity, quality, safety, and organizational health.
- Oversee complex employee relations issues and ensure consistent, compliant, and people-focused practices.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure HR processes, systems, and documentation are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Drive HR operational excellence, including data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process scalability; work closely with HRIS.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, EHS, and other functions to support a safe, high-performing workplace.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing HR team, ensuring strong business partnership, service delivery, and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or related field required; master's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 6 years in manufacturing, operations, or large multi-shift environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading HR in fast-growth or transformation settings.
- Strong capability in organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, and change management/transformation.
- Proven track record influencing and coaching senior leaders.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
