Position Overview

As the Quicksight Administrator / Report Analyst, you will own the setup, automation, governance, and performance of our Quick Sight environment, while also designing and developing dashboards, reports, and analytics features. You will automate as much of the administrative functions as possible (using CLI, APIs, scripts) and ensure that business stakeholders can reliably consume data. This role reports to the Enterprise Solutions Program Lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer AWS Quick Sight environments, managing users, permissions, groups, name spaces, and resource access.
  • Use CLI, SDKs, or APIs to automate administrative tasks (user provisioning, permissions updates, dataset refreshes, etc.).
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain dashboards, reports, and analyses in Quick Sight (authors, visuals, stories).
  • Optimize performance of datasets and dashboards (e.g. SPICE, query tuning, data prep).
  • Establish and enforce governance, access controls, and usage policies within Quick Sight.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into Quick Sight solutions.
  • Monitor usage, error logs, refresh failures, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Maintain documentation of data models, dataset lineage, dashboard specifications, and administrative procedures.
  • Provide training and support for business users and analytics teams on Quick Sight usage and best practices.
  • Evaluate new Quick Sight features, enhancements, or third‑party tools for possible adoption.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in BI / analytics environments, with at least 1–2 years specifically in AWS Quick Sight administration and report development.
  • Proven experience automating administrative tasks via CLI, SDK, or scripts (Python, AWS CLI, Boto3, etc.).
  • United States citizen; current or ability to obtain government security clearance.
Skills and Competencies
  • Deep working knowledge of Quick Sight features: authors, dashboards, SPICE, templates, storyboards.
  • Experience tuning performance: dataset refresh strategies, query optimizations, memory usage, filter design.
  • Strong SQL skills; ability to work with underlying data sources (Redshift, Snowflake, RDS, etc.).
  • Understanding of data modeling, join logic, aggregation, and data preparation best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting to interact with AWS APIs or automate tasks.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate business questions into dashboard logic.
  • Good communication skills to partner with business users and technical teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, troubleshooting mindset.
