At the Indiana University Foundation (IUF), technology is the engine that drives our ability to connect donors with the causes they love. As we embark on our ambitious public campaign and execute the Advancing IU2030 strategic plan, we are seeking a visionary Senior Vice President, Information Technology & Innovation to pilot that engine.
This is a unique opportunity for an executive leader to define a multi‑year technology strategy that is as bold, transformative, and impactful as the university we serve.
The Role:Strategic Partner, Not Just IT
We are looking for someone who asks “How can we make that happen?” A strategic partner who brings a blend of analytical rigor, executive presence, and critical optimism to our Senior Management Team. A candidate who will bridge the gap between high‑level vision and tactical execution, ensuring our technology investments are directly tied to mission impact.
Key Responsibilities- AI & Innovation Enablement: Drive the adoption of AI and machine learning to enhance predictive modeling for fundraising, automate operations, and embed data‑informed decision‑making.
- Enterprise Transformation: Lead our digital transformation journey, overseeing the integrity and scalability of our CRM ecosystem to ensure a single source of truth.
- Leadership & Culture: Empower a high‑performing team while fostering a culture of agility, continuous learning, and service‑oriented delivery.
- Change Advocacy: Serve as a lead change agent, utilizing our Business Transformation Office to navigate the human side of technological shifts and ensure our organization evolves in tandem with our AI‑integrated ecosystem.
- Board & Stakeholder Liaison: Translate complex technology concepts into strategic business value for our Board of Directors and non‑technical partners.
You are a collaborative leader who operates with a first team mentality, prioritizing organizational success over departmental silos. You exhibit confident humility— you bring deep expertise, yet you remain open to feedback, vulnerable, and always willing to admit when you are wrong.
What You Bring- Executive
Experience:
15+ years of progressive technology leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. - Sector Expertise: Proven experience leading complex data environments in Higher Education, Non‑Profit, or Healthcare sectors, with mastery in large‑scale CRM migrations.
- Strategic Agility: A demonstrated ability to lead day‑to‑day operations while simultaneously driving long‑term innovation.
- Change Management: A track record of guiding large organizations through cultural and technical transformations, particularly in the realm of AI adoption.

LocationThis position is hybrid‑eligible (3:2), based in Indianapolis or Bloomington, Indiana, with an in‑office expectation of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
