Parking Garage Assistant
Incumbent is responsible for assisting the Parking Garage Manager in the administration of daily maintenance, safety, and operations of City parking garages. These activities include facilities operations, facilities maintenance/repairs, supervision of staff and scheduling. Incumbent monitors and supervises daily operations. Prime focuses on troubleshooting all Parking garage related concerns.

- Assists the Parking Garage Manager in the operation and daily maintenance of City-owned parking garages, including training, scheduling, and performance management of staff.
- Monitors garage utilization, daily and monthly. Ensures monthly and transient entries are set appropriately.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems, including pay station, gate box, card access, roll gate, and ticket spitters. Engages appropriate vendors for repairs, as needed.
- Daily, inspects cleanliness and condition of parking garages, including stairs, lobbies, and garage decks. Ensures that all standard operating procedures are followed for the parking garages.
- Communicates with fellow staff, customers, supervisors, and vendors, and promotes good relations within the department and with the general public.
Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory role within a customer service-oriented industry or a similar field. Work-related experience in financial operations involving cash handling. Experience with general maintenance, parking garage maintenance preferred.
Difficulty of Work and Personal Work RelationshipWhile the incumbent performs some duties in a traditional office setting, most tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Incumbent is on call 24 hours per day, seven days a week in order to handle emergencies that might develop. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including co-workers, City and other government officials, community groups, and the general public.
The incumbent needs communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with customers, employees, and management.
