Slitter Operator

Printpack Bloomington is looking for candidates to fill Slitter Operator positions. An ideal applicant is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co‑workers. Good attendance is a must.

• Monday‑Thursday 7AM – 7PM
• Friday‑Sunday 7AM – 7PM (Work 36 hours, get paid for 40)
• Monday‑Thursday 7PM – 7AM

Pay for this position is $21.77+ depending on experience. A $2.50 shift differential is additionally applied to night shift positions between the hours of 7PM and 7AM.

• Operate the slitter to ensure safety, produce quality output, meet production standards, and achieve customer expectations.
• Communicate with other departments to resolve mechanical problems, report defective material, coordinate job preparations, changeovers and shift information.
• Input production data accurately and timely (waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc.).
• Ensure safety of yourself and others during machine operation.
• Prepare master rolls for slitting and place them in the machine for splicing.
• Properly segregate and label all materials as appropriate (work in process, rewinds, trash, hold).
• Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary). Remove and weigh startup rolls/materials at the beginning of the job.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep the area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shift.
• Remove and weigh all waste.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Stable work history.
• Strong time‑management skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Accurate tape‑measure reading.
• Manufacturing/machine operation experience.
• Physical demands: lift up to 50 pounds, climb, kneel, bend, squat, grasp, push, pull, fine‑motor skills, stand for extended periods.
• Ability to wear PPE including hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses.
