The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment uptime, supports continuous improvement, and maintains a safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, robotics, presses, and assembly machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical,
hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (strong emphasis on hydraulics/pneumatics) to minimize downtime - Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred)
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation (CMMS systems)
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
- 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is highly preferred
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automation systems
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Possess own set of basic tools
Schedule:
- Fast-paced production setting
- Ability to work 2nd shift(2p-1030p), including overtime as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Skills:
- Preventative maintenance (PMs) & equipment inspections
- Continuous improvement mindset (fix root causes, not just symptoms)
- Experience with CMMS systems (work orders, tracking repairs)
- Ability to prioritize work around production schedules
