Bag Machine Operator
Printpack Bloomington is seeking a reliable Bag Machine Operator who prioritizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent attendance.
Compensation & Schedule- Pay: $21.77+ per hour, depending on experience.
- Schedule:
Monday–Thursday 7AM–7PM;
Friday–Sunday 7AM–7PM (36‑hour workweek, pay for 40). Monday–Thursday 7PM–7AM.
- Set up and operate the bag machine efficiently.
- Monitor equipment and bag‑making process to ensure quality.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance when necessary.
- Demonstrate effective interaction skills to support team activities and process decisions.
- Pack finished product according to customer specifications.
- Follow plant and process safety rules and safe operating methods.
- Assist in other department areas as needed (e.g., cutting cores, supplying film, pallets, preparing boxes).
- Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment.
- Maintain daily housekeeping chores.
- Understand rack numbering systems, tags, raw materials, and WIP.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Basic computer skills, including email.
- Accurate reading of a tape measure.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Climbing, kneeling, bending, squatting.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, and fine‑motor skills.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Use of PPE: hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses.
Manufacturing environment with noise levels above 80dB, exposure to solvents, fumes, inks, and variable temperatures.
