Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Process Technician helps the production staff to direct day-to-day process activities for the plant in accordance with company schedules and policies. The role coordinates effective communication with supervisors, team leaders, and employees, administers policies and practices, and implements company values to support the vision of being the dominant supplier of value‑added films.
Responsibilities- Administer plant operations safety and quality programs.
- Coach work teams and develop mentor relationships with production floor personnel.
- Participate in morning planning meetings to prioritize the daily agenda.
- Lead process improvement efforts that result in cost savings and tracking for the facility.
- Manage process preventive maintenance items for winders, hoppers, screw & barrels.
- Identify and solve process‑related issues individually or in a group.
- Maintain knowledge of all resins, extrusion processes, and processing temperatures.
- Assist maintenance with annual die cleanings and process preventive maintenance.
- Update and document process condition sheets; create and process job jackets.
- Lead new product introductions and trial implementations.
- Collect accurate screw and barrel wear data for all lines.
- Maintain vision systems from setup/recipe standpoint and train production employees as needed.
- Serve on call phone for one week at a time for process support.
- Minimum of four (4) years of extrusion experience.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); proficiency in Excel preferred.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification preferred; if not, expected to pursue and complete training at the first available time offered by the company.
