Job Overview
Plant Scheduler – Operations Planning, Bloomington, Indiana (Day Shift). Reports to Materials Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Develop effective and efficient press schedules using production orders to meet customer requirements while maximizing manufacturing efficiencies across machines and downstream operations.
- Confirm graphics and raw materials are available to support the press schedule prior to production; collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure material availability and minimize aged raw material inventory.
- Publish and communicate production schedules to all relevant stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner; coordinate daily with associates and support groups across all operational areas and shifts.
- Communicate regularly with Customer Delivery Associates (CDAs) to meet customer needs and manage expectations; keep management and stakeholders proactively informed of production progress, potential issues, and schedule changes.
- Track production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and investigate orders produced short or over to determine root causes; create reports, schedules, and production plans using Excel and PRISM.
- Identify and resolve issues related to production delays, material shortages, and other operational challenges; implement changes to optimize scheduling efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Age 18+ years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing scheduling or production planning role is preferred.
- Must pass drug screening and background check.

- Production Scheduling – Proven ability to develop and maintain accurate, efficient production schedules in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Manufacturing Knowledge – Understanding of flexible packaging manufacturing processes, including lamination, printing, and slitting operations, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production challenges.
- Material & Resource Coordination – Knowledge of material planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination to ensure resource availability and meet production targets.
- Technical Proficiency – Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PRISM software, with the ability to work effectively within scheduling database systems.
- Advanced Excel Skills – Proficiency in advanced Excel features, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization tools.
- Data Analysis & Reporting – Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex production data, track performance metrics, and generate actionable insights and reports.
- Communication Skills – Exceptional written and oral communication skills for effective collaboration across all organizational levels and functional areas.
- Problem‑Solving & Decision‑Making – Proven ability to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, production delays, and material shortages proactively and efficiently.
- Organization & Attention to Detail – Strong organizational and logistics management abilities with close attention to detail and efficient data entry skills.
- Multitasking & Adaptability – Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while adapting quickly to changing production requirements and customer needs.
- Collaboration – Strong active listening skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally, make accommodations as needed, and build effective working relationships.
- Continuous Improvement – Ability to identify opportunities and implement changes that optimize scheduling efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment when required, including exposure to noise, temperature variation, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Visual acuity to read computer screens, reports, and documentation.
