About the Role

Lead Engineering Technician – responsible for developing and deploying processes, automation, and capital equipment for Donaldson’s manufacturing plants.

• Lead 6‑S and safety programs for the AMT Lab Prototype product builds across different business units.
• Develop and deploy automated equipment, including installation in Donaldson facilities worldwide.
• Build, test, and proof‑of‑concept machines in the lab.
• Provide leadership, coaching and training to less‑experienced team members.
• Use advanced operational knowledge to identify and implement process changes.
• Collaborate with plant personnel and engineering teams to design and build automated equipment.
• Oversee equipment builds, testing, and troubleshooting during installation and plant support.
• Act as a multi‑skilled technician to produce prototype parts for business units.
• Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders and managers consistently.

• 2‑year technical degree.
• 5+ years of progressive plant maintenance experience, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and installation.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Machinist experience.
• Ability to machine or modify components for machine builds.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical prints.
• Ability to prioritize projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.
• Domestic and international travel (15–20%).
• Strong communication skills.

Hourly pay range: $28.84 – $36.44 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skills. Overtime eligible per state and federal regulations.
