Job Description

The ED Boarding RN is embedded in the Bloomington Emergency Department. A nurse in this role is expected to provide inpatient level of care to patients admitted awaiting bed placement. These patients are at a Med Surg, Tele, and PCU level of care.

Patients for this population are not always boarded in the ED and may be placed in other areas throughout the facility. The RN may be asked to float to our acuity‑adaptable units.

Qualifications
  • Associate of Nursing (ASN);
    Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licence in the state of Indiana or active NLC RN licence.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life‑support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient‑care policies.
