Registered Nurse, Primary Care Medical Unit

Job Responsibilities

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit within the scope of service.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
• Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop a plan of care based on unit standards and patient/family needs.
• Implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modify the plan of care based upon continuous assessment.
• Ensure patient and staff safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
• Implement procedures and theories specific to ED nursing.
• Collaborate with providers, family, and patient to develop and execute care plan.

• Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Willingness to commit to a 3‑year contract.
• Must possess a nursing diploma and relevant work experience.
• Eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for the 3‑year commitment.

• Number of beds on unit: 26.
• Patient population: whole spectrum of nursing from pediatrics to geriatrics; level 2 trauma‑center, stroke center, and chest pain center.
• Nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 4:1.
• Unit has dedicated educators to maintain ED competencies and a trauma coordinator.

This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
