Job Responsibilities
- Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit within the scope of service.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
- Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop a plan of care based on unit standards and patient/family needs.
- Implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Modify the plan of care based upon continuous assessment.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
- Implement procedures and theories specific to ED nursing.
- Collaborate with providers, family, and patient to develop and execute care plan.
- Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience preferred.
- Willingness to commit to a 3‑year contract.
- Must possess a nursing diploma and relevant work experience.
- Eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for the 3‑year commitment.
- Number of beds on unit: 26.
- Patient population: whole spectrum of nursing from pediatrics to geriatrics; level 2 trauma‑center, stroke center, and chest pain center.
- Nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 4:1.
- Unit has dedicated educators to maintain ED competencies and a trauma coordinator.
This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
