Registered Nurse Cardiology-Ambulatory

Overview

Join our Cardiology Ambulatory Triage RN team, serving as a vital clinical resource for a high‑volume department supporting 24 cardiology providers. You will answer live incoming calls using nursing judgment to triage appropriately per IU Health and departmental protocols, communicate abnormal test results with physician direction, conduct in‑office nurse triage visits, and act as a strong patient advocate between providers and patients.

The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a predictable schedule and excellent work‑life balance in an ambulatory setting.

• Answer live incoming calls and triage patients using nursing judgment per protocols.

• Communicate abnormal test results with physician direction.

• Conduct in‑office nurse triage visits.

• Act as patient advocate between providers and patients.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);
  Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions:
  Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of relevant clinical experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• May require ability to assess patients without face‑to‑face interaction.
• Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
