The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations, reports to the Center Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires knowledge of plasma collection regulations and environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidance.

You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The position reports to the Center Manager and is managed by the Center Physician, with familiarity required for plasma collection regulations.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
• Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS to investigate pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (EMT‑Paramedic).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. hourly wage range: $23.04 – $31.68
