American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level I and II Trauma Center setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Cerner charting system

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2-3 years of ER experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and CVA/neurological care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma center setting
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the required ER experience
