American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Level I and II Trauma Center setting
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Minimum 2-3 years of ER experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and CVA/neurological care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma center setting
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the required ER experience
