Must be comfortable in a mixed acuity unit, ranging from ICU to some Progressive Care Unit ratios.
Description:
The position is in a mixed acuity unit, accommodating a range of patient needs. The patient population primarily consists of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients, including those recovering from procedures such as CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS. Additional patients may include those from medical/surgical, progressive, and oncology backgrounds. Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is essential. Candidates should be proficient in post-cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central/PICC line management.
Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips is required. Preferred skills include managing intra-aortic balloon pumps, pre/post cardiac catheterization intervention, sheath removal, and care of ventilated patients. A strong familiarity with ventilator management is desired. Floating to meet facility needs will be required. The unit is equipped with private rooms and overhead lifts. The daily census averages around 30 patients.
Interdisciplinary support includes access to various healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract period.
