Machine Operator - Shift

Simtra Bio Pharma Solutions is a world‑class contract development and manufacturing organization that partners with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to bring sterile injectable products to market.

Shift: 10:45 PM – 6:45 AM.

• Operate equipment according to SOPs and batch records, ensuring first‑pass quality and maximizing efficiency.
• Periodically inspect equipment in good and reject areas, documenting findings and maintaining clear and functional machines.
• Set up and change over equipment independently; verify completion with checklists and monitor timelines.
• Communicate equipment issues to subsequent shifts, supervisors, and appropriate personnel.
• Provide assistance to quality assurance, production clearance, and resolution of machine faults, supporting troubleshooting and work‑order completion.
• Train peers and relief operators on equipment operation, setup, and change‑over procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by updating SOPs and supporting equipment qualification and validation activities.
• Maintain attendance in accordance with the Bloomington Attendance Policy and be available for scheduled weekend overtime.
• Ensure safety practices are followed and the work area remains clean and free of hazards.

Controlled pharmaceutical environment; required to wear long sleeves, safety toe shoes, gloves, and safety glasses. Ability to work in a team on automated packaging equipment.

• High school diploma or GED (required). Six months of previous pharmaceutical or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and possess good interpersonal and basic math skills.
• Knowledge of SOPs, specifications, and job‑specific training materials.
• Physical capability to perform manual tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 38 lbs, carrying up to 30 lbs, and operating controls. Final candidates must pass a post‑offer/pre‑employment physical examination.
• Visual acuity 20/20 with or without correction and ability to pass a color‑blind test.
• Proficiency in spoken, written, and reading English to comply with SOPs and GMP requirements.

• Occasional (0‑33 %): walking, climbing stairs/ladders, overhead reaching, lifting up to 38 lbs, carrying 30 lbs, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
• Frequent (34‑66 %): sitting, standing, reaching forward, handling objects, fine hand coordination, operating controls, lifting ≤32 lbs, pushing or pulling ≤16 lbs.
