Position OverviewThe Teen Program Of Weight and Eating Research (Teen POWER) at the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for a research-focused Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow position. This full-time position involves approximately 50% research and 50% clinical intervention (therapy/assessment) delivered in the context of clinical trials.
Responsibilities- Clinical work (50%):
Perform assessments as a research clinician in an NIH‑funded randomized controlled trial treating adolescents with binge eating. Deliver evidence‑based CBT and IHBLT treatments for eating/weight disorders. Participate in pilot studies. - Research work (50%):
Analyze data, prepare data reports for grant progress and new grant applications, and submit research papers for publication and conferences. Manage data from completed treatment and longitudinal studies. Supervise and mentor research staff in data management activities.
- Ph.D. in clinical, counseling, school psychology, social work, public health, neuroscience, or a closely related field. ABD candidates with strong credentials may be considered.
- Successful completion of an APA‑accredited internship.
- Strong background in academic writing and scientific presentations.
- Experience with clinical assessment and therapy, preferably with youth.
- Prior experience conducting patient‑oriented research and/or clinical trials.
- Exceptional clinical, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with data management systems (REDCap, Qualtrics), strong statistical skills.
- Excellent writing skills including peer‑reviewed publications.
Teen POWER is a new research clinic focused on treatment studies for adolescents with eating/weight concerns. The program has a 6‑year track record conducting similar behavioral clinical trials and is funded by NIH. The environment supports collaborative research and clinical learning.
