Appointment Status:
Non-Tenure Track
Department: IU Bloomington Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Location:
Bloomington
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the School of Public Health, Indiana University – Bloomington, invites applications for one or more postdoctoral fellow positions in Infectious Disease Modeling. Working under the direct supervision of Dr. Marco Ajelli, the postdoctoral fellow will focus on applied infectious disease epidemiology using mathematical, computational, and statistical modeling. We are seeking researchers who are passionate about understanding the mechanisms driving epidemic spread, designing mathematical models, and building computational engines.
The postdoctoral fellow will be hired for a one‑year position with the opportunity for renewal on a yearly basis, assuming satisfactory performance. The positions include benefits and compensation congruent with NIH stipend levels.
Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with full consideration for those applying by April 15, 2026. The appointment start date is negotiable on a case‑by‑case basis and could begin as early as May 15, 2026.
About UsDr. Ajelli leads the Laboratory for Computational Epidemiology and Public Health (CEPH lab) at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Indiana University School of Public Health, Bloomington. The CEPH lab mission is to advance the understanding of infectious disease dynamics. While the immediate goal is excellence in scientific research and publication in high‑impact journals, the ultimate mission of the lab is to provide the quantitative evidence to inform national and international public health policy.
