Overview:

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a passionate, people-first store leader to oversee store operations in their area.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring our team delivers hassle-free and engaging customer service, driving brand and operational excellence. They focus on coaching, development, and wellbeing of teammates, while managing financial metrics, store performance, and planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operational aspects of the store department.
  • Plan and organize short-term and long-term strategies with the Store Manager.
  • Recruit actively in the community and support teammate community involvement.
  • Partner with leadership to hire a diverse team and manage workforce planning, including payroll and scheduling.
  • Ensure team compliance with operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service, and policies.
  • Drive shrink results through safety, loss prevention, and cash-handling compliance.
  • Communicate transparently and foster an engaging team environment.
  • Coach and develop oneself and others, integrating learning into daily leadership.
  • Create an inclusive environment where teammates and customers feel safe, welcomed, and respected.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of retail management or customer-focused experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
