Service and Installation Technician
Bloomington, IN | Full-Time | $25-30/hr
Job PurposePerform service, installation, and inspections on fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control systems, and various other low voltage systems.
Primary Functions- Prepares for security/fire alarm installations by reviewing installation orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools.
- Establishes security/fire alarm system by installing equipment; running and pulling wiring; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
- Verifies security/fire alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals, identifying and correcting issues.
- Maintains records by documenting installation.
- Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices and keeping security information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training.
- Participation in on‑call rotation for emergency service and work overtime as needed.
- Communicate in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
- Serve as back‑up and technical helper as needed.
- Promote all B-Tech products and services.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Candidates must successfully complete an employment background check and drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on a routine basis, and on limited occasions up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders and tolerate heights reaching a minimum of 12 feet.
- Experience using power tools.
- Must be willing to cross‑train to provide services to other departments.
- Customer oriented interpersonal skills.
- Technical and/or Mechanical knowledge and abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Must be willing to attend training sessions.
- Must be able to obtain required Certification(s).
