Service and Installation Technician

Bloomington, IN | Full-Time | $25-30/hr

Perform service, installation, and inspections on fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control systems, and various other low voltage systems.

• Prepares for security/fire alarm installations by reviewing installation orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools.
• Establishes security/fire alarm system by installing equipment; running and pulling wiring; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
• Verifies security/fire alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals, identifying and correcting issues.
• Maintains records by documenting installation.
• Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices and keeping security information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training.
• Participation in on‑call rotation for emergency service and work overtime as needed.
• Communicate in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
• Serve as back‑up and technical helper as needed.
• Promote all B-Tech products and services.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Candidates must successfully complete an employment background check and drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on a routine basis, and on limited occasions up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb ladders and tolerate heights reaching a minimum of 12 feet.
• Experience using power tools.
• Must be willing to cross‑train to provide services to other departments.

• Customer oriented interpersonal skills.
• Technical and/or Mechanical knowledge and abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Must be willing to attend training sessions.
• Must be able to obtain required Certification(s).
