Plant Maintenance Engineer
Position:
Plant Maintenance Engineer (Unlimited, Full‑time) – 6:00AM to 2:30PM (Monday–Friday).
Salary: $34.16 to $39.66 per hour ($71,326 to $82,304 annually), dependent on education and experience.
Responsibilities- Provide building maintenance services, ensuring a clean, safe, and environmentally sound operation of campus buildings.
- Operate and maintain HVAC equipment and other mechanical and electrical systems to improve efficiency and economy.
- Perform minor repairs to plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, pneumatic and other equipment.
- Maintain environmental climate of all campus buildings, including temperature, ventilation, and humidity.
- Act as part of the Facilities Emergency call list and respond to related emergency situations as needed.
- Work under limited supervision, reporting directly to the Mechanical System Supervisor to fulfill assigned work instructions.
Minimum qualifications
:
- Valid Boiler Engineer’s License or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
- Knowledge of boilers, engines, generators, pumps, compressors, heaters, dampers, motors, and energy‑management systems.
- Reading blueprints, building schematics, pneumatics and DDC controls.
- Basic computer skills (work‑order system, email, software programs).
- Physical ability to move through buildings, operate small tools, and access confined spaces, roofs, and air‑handler areas.
Preferred qualifications
:
- Four (4) years of facilities, physical plant or central plant operation and maintenance experience.
- Maintenance and repair experience with boilers, engines, generators, pumps, compressors, heaters, dampers, motors, and energy‑management systems.
- Plumbing work installation, replacement and repair of water fountains, toilet bowls, wash bowls, faucets, water and sewer lines.
- Maintenance, repair and adjustment of elevators, ventilating and refrigeration equipment, electrical appliances, sterilizers, dryers, steamers and similar equipment; ability to perform electric and acetylene welding.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes, standards, commercial availability and cost of materials.
- Intermediate computer software skills (Microsoft applications and facilities maintenance software).
- Experience operating Schneider Niagara N4 energy‑management systems.
- Experience in pneumatics, pneumatic and digital controls.
