Binkley House is seeking a mature and responsible individual to join our team as a Part-Time Shelter Residential Specialist. In this role, you will work directly with youth navigating life transitions and crisis, providing supervision, support, and positive guidance in a structure residential setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the behavior of shelter residents
- Positively guide and redirect residents using behavior modifications programs
- Coordinate and engage youth in recreation activities and games
- Monitor resident contact with visitors
- Provide support through teachable moments and appropriate interventions
- Direct daily chores and assist with meal preparation, ensuring proper nutrition
- Help residents with academic assignments and daily living skills
- Conduct security and bed checks as required
- De-escalate conflicts and maintain a safe, supportive environment
- Attend staff meetings, fill residential shifts, and assist the Residential Coordinator as needed
- Fill residential assistant shifts when census in shelter requires
- Perform additional tasks assigned
Youth Services Bureau is a 24-hour facility. This position may be assigned some overnight shifts, you must be awake during those working hours. Preferred availability incudes, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
