The Center for Behavior and Systems Innovation (CBSI) and the Indiana Resource Center for Autism (IRCA) work collaboratively to improve outcomes for autistic individuals and others with neurodevelopmental and behavioral support needs through evidence-based practices, implementation support, training, resource development, and community partnerships. Together, the Centers build local capacity by supporting individuals, families, educators, healthcare providers, employers, and community organizations across the lifespan.

The Resource Navigation and Systems Coordination Specialist provides hourly support across the Center for Behavior and Systems Innovation (CBSI) and the Indiana Resource Center for Autism (IRCA), assisting individuals, families, providers, and community partners in navigating complex service systems and accessing appropriate supports.

• Serves as a subject matter resource on Medicaid, Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers, insurance coverage, funding sources, and cross-system coordination while collaborating with Licensed Social Workers, Family Liaisons, Training Specialists, Navigators, and interdisciplinary project teams. Through resource navigation, care coordination, and development of practical tools and referral resources, the Resource Navigation and Systems Coordination Specialist helps strengthen local capacity and improve access to evidence-based services across Indiana.
• Provides resource navigation and case management support to individuals, families, educators, providers, and community partners seeking information and assistance.
• Assists individuals and families in identifying and accessing Medicaid, HCBS waiver programs, insurance benefits, funding opportunities, vocational services, educational supports, and other community resources.
• Coordinates referrals and facilitate connections among educational, healthcare, behavioral health, employment, and community service systems.
• Maintains knowledge of evolving federal, state, and local policies, eligibility requirements, and funding opportunities affecting individuals with disabilities and their families.
• Collaborates with Licensed Social Workers, Family Liaisons, Training Specialists, Navigators, and project teams to respond to community inquiries and resource needs.
• Develops and maintains relationships with community agencies, provider organizations, advocacy groups, and state partners to strengthen coordinated systems of care.
• Supports individuals and families in identifying appropriate services and overcoming barriers to accessing needed supports.
• Contributes to the development, review, and updating of resource guides, funding information, referral materials, and navigation tools.
• Collaborates with Center staff to organize and maintain resource libraries and information systems that ensure materials remain current, accurate, accessible, and responsive to community needs.
• Identifies emerging trends, service gaps, and frequently requested resources to inform future educational materials and implementation efforts.
• Documents interactions, referrals, and resource requests in accordance with Center procedures.
• Assists with data collection, reporting, and quality improvement activities related to resource navigation and community engagement.
• Participates in Center meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned in support of Center priorities.

Required

• Associate's degree in social work, psychology, human services, public health, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, or a related field

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, public health, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, or a related field

Required

• Experience providing case management, care coordination, or resource navigation for individuals with disabilities, behavioral health needs, or complex medical or social support needs.
• Working knowledge of Indiana Medicaid programs, Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers, insurance systems, Social Security benefits, vocational rehabilitation, and other public and private funding sources.
